The Regents meeting on May 16, 2019 was held on the University of Michigan-Dearborn campus.

Mitch Sollenberger, professor of political science and associate provost for undergraduate programs and integrative learning, served as the guest faculty presenter at the meeting. Sollenberger’s research presentation centered on his work involving questions about presidential behavior and power focusing on the concept of the unitary executive theory. Sollenberger’s presentation discussed the use of executive privilege - the ability of presidents to withhold information and/or testimony from Congress, the courts and the public - to highlight how recent presidents have aggressively asserted presidential power based on tenets of the unitary executive theory. 

Chancellor Domenico Grasso recapped the April 28 commencement ceremony, congratulated Brahim Medjahed, professor, computer and information science and associate dean of Rackham Graduate School, for being selected as a Professor of the Year, by the Michigan Association of State Universities and he welcomed Casandra Ulbrich, vice chancellor for institutional advancement, to UM-Dearborn.

The UM-Dearborn 2021 academic calendar was approved. The notable change includes a Thanksgiving week break in lieu of the Fall study break in October.
