Activities planned for Homecoming week Oct 8-13

October 2, 2012

There’s not another week that compares to Homecoming.

Students participate in boat races on Chancellor's Pond

Especially when it’s celebrated at University of Michigan-Dearborn.

“Homecoming is really about bringing everyone together – students, faculty, staff and alumni,” said Peggy Pattison, director of Alumni Relations.

To that end, Alumni Relations and the Student Activities Office have worked together to coordinate a wide variety of events, so there is something for everyone.

The party begins October 8 in Kochoff Hall with the Homecoming Kickoff Celebration, and culminates on October 13 as the Wolverines take on Illinois at the Big House.

In between, alumni and students will battle for supremacy on the football field during the Maize and Blue Bowl. Students will test the waters as they race across the Chancellor’s Pond during the Cardboard Boat Races. And alumni who have excelled after graduation will be honored during the Alumni Difference Makers Awards.

These and other exciting events are less than a week away, so Pattison encourages faculty and staff to review the list of homecoming activities and register to attend as many as possible.
