COB online graduate programs recognized among the nation's best

January 10, 2014

University of Michigan-Dearborn’s College of Business (COB) again has been recognized for having one of the country’s top online graduate management programs.

UM-Dearborn College of Business

According to recent rankings by U.S. News & World Report, the program is third in the state of Michigan and ranks 58 among 225 programs nationally.

“It’s always exciting to be recognized on a national scale for providing students with excellent graduate programs,” said Raju Balakrishnan, dean, COB. “The College of Business understands the importance of developing flexible programs that offer students a quality education, while preparing them for successful careers in business.”

UM-Dearborn’s College of Business is home to several nationally-recognized programs, in which students gain valuable hands-on experience, while working alongside faculty members and business professionals.

The new honor adds to the college’s list of national recognitions in recent years. In September, U.S. News & World Report ranked COB as one of Michigan’s top undergraduate business programs. The college’s part-time M.B.A. program also has been recognized for the past four years by the publication.

U.S. News & World Report based the online graduate programs rankings on statistical data provided by the participating institutions, as well as a peer assessment that asked business school deans and top distance-learning, higher-education academics to rate the other programs. For the 2014 rankings, U.S. News decreased the emphasis on admissions selectivity and peer reputation, while increasing the weight of student engagement, faculty credentials and training, as well as student services and technology.
