The University of Michigan-Dearborn’s College of Business is pleased to announce the extension of accreditation for its degree programs by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International). Accreditation by AACSB International requires schools to remain on the cutting edge of business education. The extension of accreditation, which is for a new five-year period, reflects the college’s ongoing commitment to continuous improvement and efforts to equip students with the skills critical to success in global business. The College of Business first achieved AACSB accreditation in 1997.

AACSB International is the longest-standing accrediting body for business schools worldwide. Less than five percent of the world’s business programs have earned AACSB accreditation.

“The AACSB review team recognized the outstanding work of our faculty and staff to deliver the highest quality business education and research,” said Raju Balakrishnan, dean, COB. “Over the past five years we have continued to develop innovative curricula, such as our revised MBA, M.S. and B.B.A. programs. We have also emphasized student success in a variety of ways, including expanding our Internship and Career Management Center and student tutoring programs.”

In its report, the AACSB review team specifically commended the college for several achievements, including the strong collaborative culture among COB faculty and staff, innovative programs that are aligned with industry demands, partnerships with leading international universities that are yielding impressive increases in the number of international students, the consistent top-ranking of COB undergraduate programs, and the strong work done by iLabs with leading businesses and other organizations within Michigan.
