Bryan EarlWhat does a typical workday look like for you?
Arrive about 7 a.m. to workout; the morning consists of emails, updating the website, checking reports from the previous night with ice customers, intramurals, Wellness Center classes; seeing if any facility issues need to be addressed. The afternoon consists of training the softball team; preparing the building for evening activities, and meeting with student-staff about upcoming activities.

What do you enjoy most about your job?
Working with the students, student-athletes and professional staff in the field house and throughout campus.

What was your first job?
Working at a golf course, cleaning golf clubs and golf carts.

What’s one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
I was overweight as a kid and didn’t really start exercising and eating right until after college.

What do you do to relax?
Head up North to the family cabin, sit on the beach and enjoy the sunshine with my wife and dog.

What’s your definition of a life well lived?
Doing what you want to do, treating people nicely and with respect, and making an impact on others around you.

What’s the proudest moment of your life?  
It’s a tie between getting my bachelor’s degree at Michigan and my master’s degree from Eastern Michigan.

If someone handed you a $100 bill, what would you do with it? 
Take my wife to a really nice dinner.

What advice would you give to this year’s graduating class?
Work hard at everything you do, but most importantly enjoy your job and do your job because you enjoy it. There’s more to life than making a lot of money.
