Glick named executive director for facilities operations

Carol Glick has joined University of Michigan-Dearborn as the executive director for facilities operations. In this position, Glick is responsible for leading the new facilities operations team, which includes the departments of facilities management, facilities planning and environmental health and safety. She also will be involved in directing related functions, like mail services.

“We are thrilled to have Carol in this new position, which will allow the university to develop a team-based approach to construction and renovation projects,” said Jeff Evans, vice chancellor for business affairs. “The facilities operations team will be able to work together to develop an integrated process for short and long-term planning, while also having the ability to benchmark and implement best practices of team-based models for efficiency and success.”

As a professional engineer, Glick brings extensive experience in facilities and operations management, including the preparation and management of multimillion-dollar budgets, extensive energy management experience and leadership roles in facilities operations, planning, construction and environmental safety.

Most recently, she served Providence Park Hospital, Novi, Mich., as the director of facilities support services overseeing facilities operations, emergency management, safety and grounds. Prior to that, Glick spent 11 years with DTE Energy, Detroit, most recently as the director of applications engineering and project management. She also spent time in facilities management for F&M Distributors, Warren, Mich.

Carol received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree from the University of Michigan and is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in administration from Central Michigan University.
