Improving college access topic of two conferences hosted by UM-Dearborn
The campus's Fairlane Center hosted conferences for the Midwest meeting of the National College Access Network (NCAN), as well as the Michigan College Access Network (MCAN) statewide meeting.
At the NCAM gathering, UM-Dearborn Chancellor Daniel Little addressed attendees about "Engaging Returning Workers in Higher Education." In addition, Donnell Mersereau of the Council of Michigan Foundations talked about funding strategies and statewide leaders discussed how to engage policy-makers in collaborative efforts.
At the MCAN meeting, Elizabeth Gutierrez, state director of policy for the Lumina Foundation for Education, discussed how attendees could work together to achieve Michigan’s goal of 60% college attainment by the year 2025.
