Kudos: Thom Madden

UM-Dearborn alumnus Thom Madden has been selected as U-M Financial Operation's new director of sponsored programs on the Ann Arbor campus, effective Nov. 8.  Madden has more than 20 years of higher education experience in accounting, financial systems and business intelligence, and a commitment to process improvement, staff development and customer service. The Sponsored Programs area manages the post-award activities of the university’s research enterprise and other sponsored activities to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws, and sponsor regulations. In fiscal year 2010, the university received nearly $1 billion in revenues from various government agencies and private sources for sponsored programs. Madden earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting at UM-Dearborn and an MBA from Eastern Michigan University.
