Trial Databases
The Mardigian Library currently has a trial of the following online resource:

Black Studies in Video
Available through February 6, 2013

Black Studies in Video features award-winning documentaries, newsreels, interviews and archival footage surveying the evolution of black culture in the United States. In partnership with California Newsreel, the database provides unique access to their African American Perspectives collection, and includes films covering history, politics, art and culture, family structure, social and economic pressures, and gender relations.

E-Book Updates
Oxford Reference Online
The following titles have been added to the Mardigian Library’s e-book collection through the Oxford Reference Online database: Oxford Classical Dictionary (4th ed.), Oxford Companion to American Politics, Oxford Companion to Archaeology, and Oxford Encyclopedia of Ancient Greece and Rome.

Translated Texts for Historians E-Library
Translated Texts for Historians E-Library contains scholarly English translations of key historical sources from the time of late antiquity and the early Middle Ages. Each volume includes an introduction setting the text into context, and rigorous notes on content, interpretation and debates.

Database Updates
Sunday Times Digital Archive, 1822-2006
This database contains the full digital edition of the weekly Sunday newspaper published in London between 1822 and 2006. The Sunday Times Digital Archive includes approximately 600,000 pages of newspaper copy, all searchable by keyword, as well as article, title, author, date, newspaper section, and more.

African American Periodicals, 1825-1995
African American Periodicals contains more than 170 periodicals by and about African Americans, published in 26 states between 1825 and 1995. It includes popular magazines, academic and political journals, organization bulletins, and other genres. The database may be searched by keyword along with historical or presidential era, topic, periodical title, place of publication, and article type.

Classical Music in Video
Classical Music in Video contains performances by leading orchestras, chamber music, oratorio, and solo performances, as well as masterclasses and interviews with master teachers from around the world. When complete, it will contain 1,000 hours of video -- approximately 1,500 performances in all.

North American Theatre Online
North American Theatre Online is a comprehensive reference work covering all aspects of Canadian and American theatre. It includes information on thousands of plays, people, productions, production companies, awards, and theatres. The collection also includes images, playbills, postcards, scrapbooks, and other resources related to the theatre.
