External Grant Award Funding Fiscal Year 2011

The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs is happy to announce that University of Michigan-Dearborn faculty members received $8,919,973 from external grants and contracts during the 2010-2011 fiscal year.  This is a $1.28 million dollar increase over funding received during the 2009-2010 fiscal year.

Indirect cost revenue recovered from these grants and contracts was $1,456,588.  The Indirect Cost Revenue Recovery Report shows the percentages of revenue going to the PI, department, college and the research match fund managed by the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs. It also provides detail about the amount of indirect cost recovered from each grant and contract as well as adjustments to the normal distribution due to unique circumstances.  Revenue transfers will take place in September. The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs will be able to assist those who may have questions or wish to see a copy of the report.

The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs would like to extend thanks and gratitude to all the faculty and staff at UM-Dearborn who seek, obtain and carry out external grant projects.  Writing proposals takes a lot of time and effort, eclipsed only by the work that successful proposals generate. The benefits of these grants include indirect cost revenue, salary and travel support for faculty, financial support and research experiences for students, and recognition for the campus.  Some of the grants directly benefit the metropolitan community.  To these faculty, thank you.
