Faculty and staff have the opportunity to nominate students who are making a difference now, and who have the potential to have impact as future leaders. Selections will be based on academic achievement, integrity, leadership and creativity as evidenced by contributions in the classroom, on campus and in the broader community.

Last year, the inaugural Difference Makers: 50 Students of Impact generated recommendations in overwhelming quantity--and, more importantly--quality of students. Some of the Difference Makers were scholars of exceptional note with publications and national conference presentations. Some had held offices in campus organizations and changed the course of their group's legacy. Some were making a difference in their larger communities. All of them made UM-Dearborn proud.

The 2011 student Difference Makers will be recognized in Crain's Detroit Business, on a special website showcasing them, and at the Student Leadership Awards event in April.

To nominate a student to be a Difference Maker, please visit http://www.umd.umich.edu/differencemakers_nominations to download a nomination form and review all qualifications for student nominees. Students chosen as 2010 Difference Makers are not eligible for re-nomination.

Nominations are due no later than Feb. 7.
