Hong-Tae Kang, assistant professor of mechanical engineering, received a $70,000 grant from the United States Automotive Materials Partnership to investigate fatigue prediction methods of magnesium alloys as well their welds as they are subjected to different loading conditions.

Paul Richardson, professor of electrical and computer engineering, received an additional $59,739 from the U.S. Army TACOM to continue his work on testing, evaluation and analysis of digital electronics and computer architecture for automated vehicles.

David Rodrick, assistant professor of industrial and manufacturing systems engineering, received $5,000 from APTIMA to study situation awareness and cognitive workload as they relate to cultural interactions among soldiers.
