University welcomes nearly 2100 new students to campus

University of Michigan-Dearborn welcomed new students and their families to campus during the 11th annual New Student Convocation Tuesday, September 3. Nearly 500 new students, parents and guests attended the ceremony.

“There is nothing more encouraging than meeting new students and their parents and listening to their dreams and ambitions as they embark on their academic journey,” said Chancellor Daniel E. Little, following the event.

Approximately 2100 new students enrolled at UM-Dearborn for the fall semester, including nearly 960 freshmen, 720 transfer students and 425 graduate students. Final enrollment numbers will be available this month.
