Tyrone Forman to discuss racial apathy and colorblindness

Tyrone Forman, award-winning scholar and author, will speak at University of Michigan-Dearborn Friday, February 7, as part of the university's Conversation on Race series. His lecture, which takes place at 3 p.m. in the Michigan Room of Fairlane Center South, will focus on racial apathy and colorblindness.

Forman is the vice provost for diversity and senior adviser to the chancellor at the University of Illinois-Chicago. His scholarly interests include the study of intergroup prejudice and discrimination, comparative race and ethnic relations, public opinion of American youth, and health and well-being.

“UM-Dearborn is committed to creating a community of learners that acknowledge and accept differences in identity, and the Conversation on Race is one of many ways in which this purpose is supported,” said Tasha Williams, program manager of diversity programs.
