Realizing the transition from high school to college can be hard, the Office of Student Life (OSL) is with you every step of the way and is committed to connecting you to pertinent resources before you need them!
Our programs, resources, and services are to designed to:
- Familiarize students with college-level work, academic expectations, and strategies key to academic success
- Provide each student with a connection to a cohort of peers
- Enhance the sense of community, belonging, and personal responsibility among first-year students
- Connect students to campus resources and opportunities

Connecting to Resources, University Involvement, and Successful Experiences or CRUISE is an opportunity for first-year students to learn more about University life at UM-Dearborn. It is a self-paced, hybrid Program that aims to connect, support, and empower new students!
Participants will have the opportunity to expand on concepts from orientation to ensure academic, personal, and professional success! Successful completion will be based on workshop attendance and the completion of Challenges within the Talent Gateway. Participants who successfully complete the Program will be recognized for their Commitment to Success during the annual Student Leadership Awards!
