Dear UM-Dearborn students, faculty and staff,

In an effort to slow the spread of the coronavirus pandemic throughout Michigan, earlier today, Governor Whitmer issued Executive Order 2020-9 requiring the closure of places of public accommodation effective today, Monday, March 16 at 3:00p.m. through Monday, March 30 at 11:59 p.m.

Due to this order, the Mardigian Library and Stamelos Gallery must close at 3:00p.m. today. While physical access to the library will be limited during this time, the library will continue to provide virtual resources to the campus community including Ask-A-Question and LibChats, Virtual reference support and e-resources (databases, ebooks, streaming videos) are also all available through the Mardigian Library website

As a reminder, the university has also developed online resources for students and faculty and staff to assist with working and studying remotely.

We understand that this is a challenging time for all. The university maintains its commitment to ensuring the safety of the campus community. The precautions taken by campus leadership, in collaboration with University of Michigan officials and following the guidance of the State of Michigan and the CDC, will help us “flatten the curve,” minimizing exposure and helping to prevent the continued spread of the coronavirus.

Sincerely,

Susan E. Alcock
Provost
