Changes to COVID-19 Testing and Vaccination Clinic

September 16, 2021

This week we’ve continued to see the positive momentum that Chancellor Grasso shared last week with our student, faculty and staff vaccination rates.

Dear UM-Dearborn Colleagues and Students,

Rates are now above 80% for faculty, staff and students with on-campus students above 87%.

Our on-campus testing and vaccination clinic has been in operation since August 30, with hundreds of faculty, staff and students successfully using the clinic regularly to complete their testing requirements. To date the clinic has processed nearly 2,500 tests.

Beginning next week, due to a significant reduction in daily activity at the clinic, we will be scaling back its days of operation. The clinic will close for the weekend on Friday, September 17 at 5pm and will reopen on Tuesday, September 21 at 7:30am. Moving forward, the clinic will be open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 7:30am-6:30pm. The location of the clinic will remain in the University Center.

If you typically test on Monday, please be sure to plan to complete your test first thing Tuesday morning, or if you have a Monday/Wednesday class, plan to test on Wednesday before class. You can also always test at an off-site location. All test results must be uploaded using the Test Reporting Form

If this change in schedule will create a challenge for you, students please contact or call 313-593-5056. Faculty and staff please contact Human Resources to discuss your options, by calling 313-593-5190 or emailing

The clinic will continue to offer the COVID-19 vaccine through September 29, 2021. Vaccinations are also readily available through the metro Detroit area.

Thank you for your continued commitment to our campus Health & Safety Guidelines and your work to keep our community safe.
