May 14, 2021

Please find below reminders and updates regarding COVID-related news as we move closer to our fall transition semester.

Dear Colleagues,

Please find below reminders and updates regarding COVID-related news as we move closer to our fall transition semester.

Final Call for Campus Vaccination Clinic

There is still time to register for the UM-Dearborn vaccination clinic with Rite Aid next Tuesday, May 18, from 10am-2pm, at Fairlane Center North. The clinic will be providing the two-dose Pfizer vaccine. Participants must be available to receive their second dose on campus on Tuesday, June 8, at the same time they registered/received the first dose. With the recent FDA approval of the Pfizer vaccine for the 12-15 age group, the clinic is now also open to UM-Dearborn faculty, staff and student dependents in that age group (a parent must be present to sign the consent form). Register for an appointment using the online form

Revised Campus Face Covering Policy

Due to the decrease of positive COVID cases, increased vaccination numbers and new Michigan Department of Health & Human Services Gathering and Face Mask Orders, UM-Dearborn is allowing individuals to be mask-free while outdoors when alone or in gatherings of less than 100 people. The updated UM-Dearborn Face Covering Policy states individuals must wear a face covering when “inside buildings, on U-M transportation like the shuttle, participating in organized contact sports and when outdoors in gatherings of 100 or more.”

MI Vacc to Normal Milestone Reached

The state of Michigan reached its first MI Vacc to Normal milestone of having 55% of the eligible state population with at least one vaccination shot. This allows for in-person work for all sectors of business. As a reminder, UM-Dearborn will follow its phased return to campus plan, with employees receiving direction from their supervisor regarding how/when they will return to work on campus.

Next week we will share additional information regarding policies, procedures and expectations to allow you to better prepare for the transitional Fall semester.
