COVID Weekly Update 5/7/21

May 7, 2021

This week, classes have commenced for our summer I semester. We would like to share a few COVID-related updates with you as we transition into the summer semester.

Dear Colleagues,

This week, classes have commenced for our summer I semester. We would like to share a few COVID-related updates with you as we transition into the summer semester.

Campus Vaccination Clinic - Save the Date:
In order to make it even easier for UM-Dearborn faculty, staff and students to obtain the COVID-19 vaccine, the university is partnering with RiteAid to hold a vaccination clinic on campus. The clinic is scheduled for Tuesday, May 18, from 10am-2pm, at Fairlane Center North. The clinic will be providing the two-dose Pfizer vaccine, so participants must be available to receive their second dose, on campus, on Tuesday, June 8 at the same time they registered/received the first dose. You can register for the clinic here.

Just a reminder, the university is providing employees with up to two hours of paid release time per vaccine dose. More details and coding time code information is available on the U-M HR website.

Vaccine Availability:
If the campus vaccination clinic is not convenient, many clinics throughout the region have moved to walk-in vaccinations, including Michigan Medicine at Michigan Stadium, Ford Field in Detroit and the Dearborn Vaccination Center. Check our vaccine page for more details and please get vaccinated today.

Facemask Policy:
Following the relaxed guidance from the CDC and MDHHS regarding the use of facemasks while outdoors, today, U-M announced revisions to the university's face covering policy. We will review the revised policy and provide updated guidance to the campus community next week. Until this time, please continue to wear a facemask while on campus (inside buildings or outdoors).

Fall Planning Update:
As we continue to prepare for the fall transition semester, we will share additional information regarding policies, procedures and expectations the week of May 17.

We wish everyone a productive, engaging and safe summer semester.
