Winter 2022 in-person, on-campus classes
The winter semester will have approximately 67% of classes offered in person, on-campus. This is a 15% increase from the fall semester. Registration begins November 1.
At this time we do not anticipate any changes to the campus calendar.
Winter classes begin on January 10. Spring break is scheduled for the week of February 28.
It is strongly encouraged that those traveling during the upcoming breaks follow the latest CDC travel guidelines. Guidance varies based on vaccination status and travel destination. If it is recommended by the CDC that you test following travel, please plan accordingly before returning to campus.
The center will be open the week of January 10, Monday – Thursday. Winter semester hours will be shared before the end of the year.
All campus buildings will be open during their regular hours for the remainder of the semester and throughout the winter semester. There will not be health screeners at building entrances at the start of the winter semester.
The library will continue to serve only the UM-Dearborn community into the winter semester.
University Union & Events will continue to serve meeting and event requests by identifying available room and space opportunities that are complementary to the academic schedule. Additional meeting spaces are coming online. There is a required 2-week lead time to secure a meeting or event request. Departments should use the Room Reservations Form to submit all requests. All student organizations must submit requests through Victors Link.
If you are hosting an event, please include the following language on your promotional materials or online postings, “Faculty, staff and students must be in compliance with the vaccination policy in order to attend an event on campus. Students that attested to not coming to campus, cannot attend campus events. External guests must complete the guest version of ResponsiBLUE.”
A roster of external guests attending campus events must be created in advance of the event.
The university vaccination policy will continue this winter. This means all new students, or students coming back to campus for an in-person class must be in compliance with the vaccination policy, by Monday, January 3, 2022.
Face coverings will continue to be required for all students, staff, faculty and visitors in indoor settings and on transportation, regardless of vaccination status. Face coverings are not required outdoors. Face coverings can be removed briefly for eating and drinking. As a reminder, face coverings are available at the University Center Info Desk, Human Resources, CSS Reception Desk, CASL Advising Office and College Deans' Offices.
All faculty, staff and students must continue to do the ResponsiBLUE health screening before coming to campus.
Current COVID-19 reporting procedures will continue through the winter semester.
If you have COVID-related symptoms, please report them to the appropriate office. It is important that symptoms and a positive COVID status be reported early, so staff can reach out to impacted classmates and faculty to alert them of a positive exposure.
