Two-Factor Authentication at U-M

Two-factor authentication requires users to provide two proofs of their identity when logging in, which increases security for U-M web-based resources.  The two proofs of identity used for two-factor authentication at the university are your UMICH password and a Duo authentication method.

When logging in Two-factor authentication is required for these administrative systems in Wolverine Access:

  • Human Resource Management
  • Financials & Physical Resources System
  • M-Reports
  • Time Approval
  • U-M Data Warehouse (only when accessed with Business Objects)

It is also required for these systems:

  • DART (Donor Alumni Relationship Tool)
  • MCommunity Sponsor System
  • Flux Computing Cluster
