Welcome to the intensive English Language program of the University of Michigan-Dearborn!

The English Language Proficiency Program (ELPP) prepares students from all over the world to achieve proficiency in English, and succeed in their academic field of study.

ELPP students are part of the University of Michigan family, and form an integral part of the Dearborn campus community. As part of the Michigan family, ELPP students have access to all the benefits of the University including student life, library resources, and student support services. The Dearborn campus is a safe, supportive, and ideal location to become immersed in American culture and the English language.

Students choose from a variety of core classes as well as specialized courses to personalize and refine their English language skills. As an integral part of the Dearborn campus community, qualified students can make a seamless transition from the ELPP to UM-Dearborn undergraduate and graduate academic degree programs.
