Active Assailant Response Training

An "active assailant" is an individual who is engaged in killing or attempting to kill people in a confined and populated area. In most cases, active assailants use firearm(s) and there is no pattern or method to their selection of victims.

This training helps to prepare you for actions to take should an active assailant be in your vicinity. You must be prepared both mentally and physically to deal with the situation and to take action steps that may help save your life.

The UM-Dearborn Police & Public Safety Department began delivering this training as a pilot program at the end of November 2015. Even if you attended a training during our pilot, there is a new video and the training has been updated. We encourage you to sign up and attend the new training. Should you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to our department at (313) 593-9953.

We have added new sessions for Fall 2018. Please select a session date and click on the link to register to attend one session, 2 hours in length.
