Lacea Zavala

Biography and Education
Lacea Zavala, MSW, LMSW is a Supervisor for the Kids-TALK Children's Advocacy Center (CAC) in Detroit. Since 2001, she has worked in a multitude of positions across the child welfare spectrum, from Family Preservation to Therapeutic Foster Care Licensing to Family Reunification. In her current position as Kids-TALK CAC Supervisor, Lacea oversees prevention programming for the CAC while building connections with Wayne County schools, faith-based organizations, and community groups to host events and raise awareness of child-maltreatment.
Lacea is passionate about preserving families, preventing child abuse and neglect, and joining with the community to support children and families to thrive. Lacea is a Board Member of Child’s Hope, Secretary of the Mayor’s Task Force for the Well-Being of Children and Families, a team member of the Great Start Collaborative-Wayne and Hope Starts Here Early Childhood Partnership, and Past-President of the New Beginnings Exchange Club of Downriver.
