Use the information below to answer questions you may have about Peer Advising. If you have further inquiries, feel free to contact us!
Peer Advisors assist with functions such as helping students fill out forms (change of major/minor, add/drop, etc.)
Peer Advisors are also here to advise students from a student perspective, as each Peer Advisor is also a student. Seeing a Peer Advisor is a good opportunity to get advice from someone who is going through the same schooling system that you are.
Peer Advisors also assist with Academic Coaching.
If you are a freshman or first-year student at the university, you will need to schedule an appointment with your START advisor regardless, but you do NOT need to consult a START advisor before seeing a Peer Advisor if that is your goal.
Yes, PALS are able to meet with students to help you pick classes, explore DegreeWorks, and plan out future semesters. More information can be found in our crash course presentations on YouTube!
PALS can help you with study tips, test taking strategies, time management, registration, goal setting, note taking, online learning tips, instructor communication help, and more!
Feel free to reach out and we'd be happy to be in touch with you!
Office Hours: PALS office hours will resume at the start of the Fall 2021 semester.

Meet Your PALS!
"Hi! My name is Miraaj and I am currently in my third year here. I am majoring in Elementary Education with a concentration in Early Childhood. After graduating, I hope to travel the world and teach internationally. My hobbies include playing tennis, spending time with family and friends, eating good food and traveling. This is my first year as a Peer Advisor and I couldn’t be more excited to start. I look forward to connecting with new students and advising them to the best of my ability. I remember all of the logistical and time management struggles I had as a first year student and I hope to make the transition easier for incoming students. This campus is filled with resources and opportunities and I hope students are able to fully utilize them with our help. I look forward to meeting and having a great 2020-2021 school year with all of you!”
