Women Veteran Stand Down 2019
UM-Dearborn's Association of Women Veterans helping veterans.
The University of Michigan-Dearborn’s Association of Women Veterans, in partnership with the University’s Center for Social Justice and Inclusion-Veterans Affairs, and Love a Michigan Veteran Project held a Female Veteran Stand Down on Saturday, November 02, 2019. Hosted by the University of Michigan-Dearborn in the Fairlane Events Center, the event supplied over 150 women veterans with goods and services in recognition of their military service.
Some of the services included food, clothing, benefits counseling and referrals to other assistance such as health care, housing solutions, employment, substance and mental health counseling. The American Red Cross offered Resiliency workshops to the veterans in attendance.
Hats off to the Association of Women Veterans who made this fantastic event a HUGE success.
The date for next year’s Women’s Veteran Stand Down is set for Saturday, November 7, 2020.
