The Value of Student Employment

Obtaining work experience while earning your degree can be a great addition to your resume and demonstrate to an employer or graduate program that you have developed professional skills.  Whether you obtain experience through a campus position, internship/co-op or an off campus opportunity, you will have the opportunity to enhance your professional network and fine tune relevant or transferable skills.

On-Campus Employment

All work-study and non-work-study on-campus positions will be posted on umjobs.org.

Please keep in mind the following when searching for positions: all campus positions will be classified as Part-Time and Temporary

For more information about on-campus employment, view the On-Campus Employment flyer.

Work Study FAQs

  • What is Work Study?

The Federal Work-Study Program provides students with the opportunity to work on campus or at approved off-campus non-profit organizations while they attend college. The purpose of any work-study program is to help a student pay educational costs through employment. It is financial aid that is considered self-help. Students must demonstrate financial need and be enrolled at least half-time (6 credits undergraduate) to be eligible.
