  • Instructor Approved Add Required

This registration restriction, which is applied to a few select courses beginning the second week of classes, requires students to obtain the permission of the instructor to select the course.  The restriction will display on a course as Instructor Approved Add Required.  An electronic override may be given to a student for this restriction.

If the student receives an electronic override and is not on the class waitlist, the student should

    1. Login to UM-Dearborn Connect
    2. Verify that the override is present (look under the Registration Status link)
    3. Register for the course

If the student is on the waitlist for the course, the student should

    1. Login to UM-Dearborn Connect
    2. Verify that the override is present (look under the Registration Status link).
    3. Drop the course from his/her schedule. (Once the waitlisted section is dropped, the waitlist space cannot be recreated. Be sure that the override is in place prior to dropping the course.)
