Become a Planet Blue Ambassador!

The Planet Blue Ambassador Program is your entry point to sustainability at UM-Dearborn. The program is designed to cultivate community that is rooted in wellness, environmental justice, activism, and environmental stewardship. To be a Planet Blue Ambassador (PBA) is to be a leader in working toward sustainability at UM-Dearborn and beyond. All faculty, staff, students, and alumni are welcome to join! Complete the self-paced training to become a certified Planet Blue Ambassador, or sign up for a live group training.

Events and Volunteering

The Planet Blue Ambassador Program and its partners host regular events that address environmental issues through hands-on activities, help build sustainability skills and knowledge, and provide tools for practicing sustainability on campus and at home.

Nature Walks for Mental Health

WhenFirst & third Tuesdays of each month from 2:00pm until 2:45pm. Fall dates include September 17th, October 1st, October 15th, November 5th, November 19th, and a special celebration event on December 3rd from 2:00pm-3pm. 

Where: Meet at the Environmental Interpretive Center, rain or shine. Please dress appropriately for the weather.

What's it about? These 45-minute strolls are meant to help you press pause on the chaos of life and reconnect you with nature and your wellbeing. We have routes that are accessible to people of all abilities! 

Free stuff! Each time you attend you will be entered into a raffle to win a prize. Winners will be announced during the December 3rd celebration.

Stewardship Saturdays

When: The third Saturday of every month from 1pm-4pm.

Where: Environmental Interpretive Center

What's it about? This year-round, ongoing effort helps to improve and sustain the ecological health of the habitats in the Environmental Study Area. That includes addressing the many threats posed by invasive plants and re-establishing native plant life. Children must be at least 10 years of age to participate. The center will provide all equipment for removing invasive plants.
