Women's Resource Center to host "The Yellow Dress"

DEARBORN---The Women's Resource Center at the University of Michigan-Dearborn will host an educational theater presentation of The Yellow Dress at 4 p.m. Wednesday Oct. 8 in Lecture Hall B of the School of Management Building as part of the campus's of Domestic Violence Awareness Month programming in October.

The Yellow Dress is a one-woman play based on the stories of young women who are victims of dating violence. The presentation is free and open to the public.

The Yellow Dress is produced and directed by Deana's Fund, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting healthy relationships.

"This program helps women and men identify the warning signs of abusive behaviors, learn how to help friends and family members, and develop community awareness of the issue" said Suzanne Baker, director of UM-Dearborn's Women's Resource Center. "Our hope is to develop a culture that does not endorse, promote or accept violence in relationships."

For more information about the presentation, contact Baker at (313) 583-6445.
