Biography and Education
Amy J. Broman, Ph.D., J.D., Lecturer III of Law and Environment at the University of Michigan-Dearborn College of Business. Dr. Broman received her Ph.D. in Business Administration and her J.D. from the University of Michigan- Ann Arbor, as well as her M.B.A., M.A. and B.A. She joined the faculty here in 2008, becoming full-time in 2014. Dr. Broman teaches business law, commercial transactions, and a graduate course in the law of non-profit organizations.
Before joining the faculty, Dr. Broman had her own private legal practice. Prior to that, she served as Assistant General Counsel to the University of Michigan and worked for Miller Canfield as an associate attorney, specializing in health care law and business law.
Prior to law school and her legal career, Dr. Broman was an assistant professor in Accounting at Michigan State University, teaching and doing research in the area of tax. She has published in several academic and professional journals, and was co-editor of a book on the Michigan Rules of Evidence. She has also presented research on the payday loan industry at an international business conference.
