Biography and Education

Anthony P. Patti was sworn in as a United States Magistrate Judge for the Eastern District of Michigan in January 2015. He received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan, cum laude in 1987 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Notre Dame in 1990.

After law school, he practiced for 24 years in Ann Arbor. He has served as an adjunct professor of law at the Ave Maria School of Law and at Western Michigan University's Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where he taught trial advocacy and medical malpractice courses. He has also taught Political Science courses at several other universities and colleges, including courses in Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, American Government and the American Legal System.
