Biography and Education
Dr. Phillips received his Ph.D. from Western Michigan University in 2012, working under the direction of Clifton Ealy. His dissertation was on topological loops and quasi-groups, as well as other non-associative algebraic structures which are pro-finite. He also studied at Clemson University and received a Master's degree in pure mathematics and a B.A. in Mathematics and Philosophy from Western Michigan University.
Since arriving at UM-Dearborn in 2012, he has served (at various times) as the course coordinator for Math 131, the editor of the department newsletter and the coordinator for the student mentor program. His research interests broadly include combinatorics, graph theory, topological loop theory and generalized algebraic structures.
