Biography and Education

David R. Hill earned a Ph.D. in Special Education from the University of Pittsburgh (Pitt), a M.S.L. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, a M.Ed. in Special Education from the University of North Florida, and a B.S. in Special Education from Middle Tennessee State University. 

Prior to earning his Ph.D. at Pitt, David spent 11 years in K-12 education as an Administrator and as a National Board Certified Teacher serving students with a variety of disabilities including intellectual disability, autism, emotional behavior disabilities, and specific learning disabilities.

His research interests include identifying effective reading interventions for students with ID, developing effective inclusive evidence based practices for students with disabilities to enhance teacher instruction, and examining legal issues in special education and how they impact school districts.
