Biography and Education
Kyongson Park is an assistant professor in ESL education at the college of Education, Health, and Human Services, University of Michigan-Dearborn. She received her Ph.D. in ESL/Second Language Studies program in the department of English from Purdue University, IN and obtained her Master’s degree in the department of Linguistics at Syracuse University, NY.
Dr. Park’s research interests include bilingual and English as a Second Language (ESL) education, intercultural communication, and language assessment for linguistically and culturally diverse students. Through her teaching experience, Dr. Park has been teaching pre-service teachers through K-12 teacher education for ESL licensure, international teaching assistants at the university level, and K-12 English learners.
Dr. Park actively presents her studies at local and international conferences including TESOL Convention and AAAL and her work can be found in English for Specific Purposes and INTESOL Journal.
Teaching Areas: ESL and Bilingual Education, Teacher Education for English Learners and On-line teaching.
Research Areas: Language and Culture in Education, Language Assessment, Teacher Collaboration for ELL STEM Literacy.
