Biography and Education
Dr. Lois Lamerato is a senior scientist in the Department of Public Health Sciences at the Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, MI. She has 20 years of experience in health services research in the areas of pharmacoepidemiology and comparative health outcomes. Specific disease states include cancer, diabetes, kidney disease, infectious disease, and pain management. She serves as site as principal investigator for the NCI-funded Prostate, Lung, Colorectal and Ovarian Cancer Screening Trial (PLCO) and the CDC-funded UMICH - HFORD Influenza Vaccine Effectiveness Study (MFIVE) and the US Hospital Vaccine Effectiveness Network (HAIVEN).
As a lecturer, she incorporates real-world experience into the classroom to convey the practical aspects of course content in her teaching of Medical Information Systems and Evidence-Based Medicine and Clinical Decision support.
