Biography and Education

Samantha Petrak, (M.A. in Spanish, Bowling Green State University), is a Lecturer IV of introductory and intermediate Spanish. In addition to teaching at UM-Dearborn, she has also taught introductory and intermediate Spanish at various Michigan institutions including Eastern Michigan University, Wayne State University, and Henry Ford Community College. 

Ms. Petrak has also taught courses in Spanish grammar, literature and culture at Bowling Green State University and Owens Community College in Ohio.

While completing her graduate studies, Samantha had the opportunity of serving as translator for Dr. Paul Olscamp - former President of Bowling Green State University - on his trip to evaluate the university's study abroad program in Spain.

In addition to her experiences in academia, Ms. Petrak served as Center Manager for the Texas Migrant Council's Head Start Program, where she supervised bilingual classes and community-based activities for migrant children, as well as assisted migrant families with language and living skills.
