UM-Dearborn is planning a robust week of events to celebrate the life and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr.
To commemorate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. UM-Dearborn, along with Henry Ford College, U-M and UM-Flint, will host programs and events dedicated to honoring the memory of this great American Icon.

- 29TH ANNUAL UM-DEARBORN MLK DAY OF SERVICE
10 a.m.-4 p.m. Register to participate.Volunteers from across campus and the surrounding community will come together on Monday, January 17, to lend a helping hand and inspire long lasting and positive change throughout the Metro Detroit area. Volunteers will work remotely or in person to support Detroit-area schools and community agencies in fulfilling their valuable missions.
CALLING IN THE CALL OUT CULTURE

Dr. Loretta Ross — nationally-recognized expert on racism and racial justice, women's rights, and human rights — leads a discussion on challenging the Call Out culture of social justice movements and academic spaces in order to build a united human rights movement. Ross is a visiting associate professor at Smith College in the Program for the Study of Women and Gender, teaching courses on white supremacy, race and culture in America, human rights, and calling in the calling out culture. CHANGE IT UP!: BYSTANDER INTERVENTION TRAINING Online.
There will be two Change it Up Curriculum sessions. There will be a session for faculty and staff and a session for students.

PEACE RALLY
Noon-1 p.m., Meet at the UM-Dearborn University Center. Register here.
Join the Peace Rally walk from UM-Dearborn's University Center to the Henry Ford College Student Center. It will start at noon. Speakers include Mayor-Elect Abdullah Hammoud and coordinator of the Black Male & QUEENS Focus Group at Henry Ford College Kalvin DaRonne Harvell.
