As an anthropology major at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, you’ll explore human biology, culture, religion, race, gender, and language using scientific research methods, and you will learn to become aware of and critically evaluate your own culture. You'll also gain skills necessary in the workplace including communication, community engagement, cultural awareness, teamwork, problem solving, project design and management, planning and organizing, observation and storytelling, data collection, and qualitative and quantitative research skills.

Where an Anthropology Degree Will Take You

The knowledge and skills you’ll develop as an anthropology major open doors in many fields, including law, medicine, public health, business, engineering (e.g. user experience research), education, social work, criminal justice, international development, social policy, communications, management, and nonprofit work. They also are excellent preparation for graduate work in anthropology, museum studies, and other social science fields.
