Police: UM-Dearborn’s full-service Police Department, serves the campus community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The department is supplemented by a partnership with the City of Dearborn Police Department.

UM-Dearborn Department of Public Safety is a full service law enforcement agency, providing emergency and non-emergency response campus wide 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. UM-Dearborn DPS officers patrol campus buildings, parking lots and other campus grounds. Patrols are conducted by officers on foot, on bike and in motor vehicles 24 hours a day, seven days a week year-round.
Additional security services include:

- Medical assistance and injury reports
- Building surveillance
- Crime prevention and security awareness programs

UM-Dearborn is committed to ensuring the safety of all students, faculty, staff and visitors. The university’s Minors on Campus Policy promotes the health, wellness, safety and security of children who are entrusted to the university’s care, custody and control or who participate in programs held on university property. Additionally, the university has policies focused on protecting minors involved in research.

UM-Dearborn provides a holistic suite of resources for survivors of sexual assault or sexual abuse. Some of the primary resources, assistance and information provided by the university include:
- Assist in reporting to on or off-campus law enforcement or initiating university disciplinary proceedings
- Confidential information and support through the Counseling and Psychological Services and Violence Prevention and Response Initiatives.
- Information on preserving evidence
- Academic accommodations are provided, such as rescheduling exams, adjusting class schedules to avoid contact with the respondent, etc.
- Change in work situations, such as relocation to provide a more private or secure location, additional security measures, etc.
- Ability for the university to implement no contact instructions
- Escorts by the campus Department of Public Safety between classes, to vehicles and to other university activities

ACCESS-Victims of Crime Act Program (VOCA)
ACCESS (Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services) has been serving the community for more than 40 years. Founded by a group of dedicated volunteers in 1971 out of a storefront in Dearborn’s south end, ACCESS was created to assist the Arab immigrant population adapt to life in the United States. SAFE House Center-Washtenaw County
SafeHouse Center provides support for those impacted by domestic violence or sexual assault. SafeHouse provides free and confidential services for any person victimized that lives or works in Washtenaw County. Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center
SAPAC promotes social change and activism on two levels: through the professional services we provide to the University of Michigan community, and through student leadership development wherein students help students as peers. We believe that women and men must work together to eradicate sexual assault, stalking, sexual harassment, and intimate partner violence and that this necessitates activism in many areas, including education, advocacy, crisis-intervention, safety-building, bystander intervention and policy development. Equality Michigan (LGBTQ)
The Department of Victim Services (DVS) at EQMI provides dedicated survivor-centered services to LGBTQ, SGL, and individuals living with HIV who have experienced violence, discrimination, and harassment. Community Health & Social Services (LA VIDA)
LA VIDA Partnership, a community program of CHASS Center, is a domestic violence and sexual assault intervention and prevention program that provides linguistically and culturally appropriate services and resources targeted to Latino/a youth and families in Southwest Detroit and Southeast Michigan. RAINN – Rape, Abuse, Incest National Network National Hotline
RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) is the nation's largest anti-sexual violence organization. RAINN created and operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline in partnership with more than 1,000 local sexual assault service providers across the country and operates the DoD Safe Helpline for the Department of Defense. UM-Dearborn Department of Public Safety prepares the Annual Security Report to comply with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act. Campus crime, arrest and referral statistics include those gathered via incident reports within our department as well as statistics reported to the UM-Dearborn Department of Public Safety via Campus Security Authorities (CSAs) and statistics received from local law enforcement agencies.
The Annual Security Report contains Crime Statistics for the Main Campus and Fairlane Center. More can be found on our Department of Public Safety site.
UM-Dearborn Department of Public Safety website and this Annual Security Report (ASR) report contain information regarding campus security and personal safety including topics such as: crime prevention, fire safety, university police law enforcement authority, crime reporting policies, disciplinary procedures and other matters of importance related to safety and security on campus. This report also contains information about crime statistics from the three previous calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University of Michigan-Dearborn; and on public property within campus boundaries, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus.
