Community Health Education
The undergraduate major in Community Health Education prepares students to promote health and wellness in community and organizational settings. Students will be trained to educate and provide information to health consumers that will empower health management and disease prevention. CHE students are actively involved in the research, analysis and identification of methods to enhance health and health care services.
CHE curriculum is consistent with the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing (NCHEC). The NCHEC outlines several main areas of responsibility and corresponding competencies that define the role of a health educator. An undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan-Dearborn in CHE ensures that students are eligible and prepared to take the NCHEC exam and become credentialed as a Health Educator.
