Welcome to the University of Michigan-Dearborn Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC). The ECEC is a unit of the College of Education, Health, and Human Services (CEHHS).  We are a high quality early childhood program.  Our early childhood program applies a Reggio inspired constructivism theory of learning to early childhood education.  Our curriculum focus is nurturing children's critical thinking skills and problem solving skills.  The ECEC is a State of Michigan approved early learning center for young children. We also serve as a model teacher preparation and child study facility for University students enrolled in a variety of UM-Dearborn education courses.

Curriculum Night

Wednesday, November 30th    4:30 pm - 6:00 pm

Please join our UM-D Student Teachers and ECEC Teachers as we examine the curriculum your children have taken part in so far this school year, and what is to come this semester.  This event is an Open House style evening, current and prospective families are encouraged to attend with their children to explore the classrooms.


As an added service to our dedicated families, the ECEC will be open for Optional Care Monday December 19th through Thursday December 22nd during regular business hours.  Registration deadline is Friday, November 18th.  Regular rate scale will be applied, fees will be added to the total tuition due.  Please use this link to register: December Optional Care
