Celebrate your home away from home this Homecoming! The Office of Student Life hosts several events throughout the week and will have something for everyone. Gather with alumni, fellow students, faculty, and staff as you celebrate your Dearborn Wolverine pride!
Homecoming Traditions
One of our most exciting campus traditions! Student Organizations, Athletic teams, and departments test their creative thinking and engineering skills to build boats entirely out of cardboard to race across the Chancellor’s Pond. Whichever team makes it to the end of the pond, and back the fastest with their boat afloat and in one piece wins.

An event to engage with active student organizations and enjoy some fun games and activities!
Annual event where alumni take on students during a fun athletic game competing to win the Maize & Blue Trophy. Traditionally this has been in flag football, but for the first time in 2023, students will take on alumni in a game of broomball on the ice rink!

The Wolverine Media Network (WMN) hosts an annual Outdoor movie night for family, friends, and wolverines!
The Student Activities Board (SAB) organizes a night where students come together and dress up (as they please) to kick off the new school year. Gathering in a beautifully decorated University Center, students are able to meet new friends, and catch up with old ones at this special occasion.
Attend a campus tailgate before the big homecoming game with free food, prizes, lawn games, music, and more.
2023 Homecoming Schedule
Monday, September 18th, 2023
Cardboard Boat Races 1-2:30 pm at the Chancellors Pond
Get involved by cheering on student organizations, athletic teams, and departments as they race across the pond, or compete by building a boat out of cardboard!
Teams will race in heats of 4 to 5 teams. The top finishers of each heat will compete in one final race to determine the winning team. The top finishers will receive prizes. The number 1 team will receive $100 to be used for an on-campus catering order or a swag purchase from Underground Printing.

Snacks and Skates 5-7 pm at the Fieldhouse Ice Arena
Grab your skates and join in for free fun, family-friendly open-skate. Bring your own skates or borrow some for free. Skates are available on a first- come, first- served basis.
Wednesday, September 20th, 2023
Maize Fest 3-5 pm at the RUC Patio
Come and engage with active student organizations on campus, fun and exciting games, goodies, and more!
Maize and Blue Bowl 6:00 pm at the Fieldhouse Ice Area- Broomball
Come and cheer on past and present Wolverines as they compete against each other in a fun athletic game for the Maize and Blue Trophy. Registration to play for students
Wolverines Watch: Back to the Future at 7:30 pm on the RUC Patio
Join the Wolverine Media Network for an outdoor movie night showing of Back 2 the Future on the RUC patio. We’ll have yard blankets from Campus Involvement Hub for seating, and will have popcorn and lemonade to really make it a great movie experience! The movie will begin at sunset. You are welcome to bring family, friends, children, etc. and your chairs.

Be ready to bring your dance move. This year, Homecoming Dance is a Night in Paris themed. You are invited to dance, eat food, and make memories.
