If a discipline or program is seeking to deactivate a major, concentration, minor, or certificate, the Academic Action Request Form and the Deactivation Form must be completed. Reasons for deactivating a program may include but are not limited to the following:
- Enrollments are no longer sufficient to justify the cost of instruction, facilities, and equipment; or the program duplicates other offerings at the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
- The program or degree is no longer aligned with the mission or strategic goals of the University.
- The program or degree no longer meets the needs of the citizens of Michigan in providing a viable education.
