What is the Talent Gateway?

Unique to UM-Dearborn, the Talent Gateway is a career readiness program that helps students prepare for a successful life and career by connecting them with resources and opportunities and then providing them with a space to reflect on the impact of these experiences.

The (M)Talent Distinction

The M Talent Distinction is the culmination of the Talent Gateway Program. Students earn the (M)Talent distinction on their transcript by reflecting on activities that stretch them to think creatively and leverage the connections among all of their learning and living experiences. Through a fun, web-based approach, students learn to recognize and articulate their existing skills while also developing new ones that employers are looking for, such as critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, communication, and leadership.

How do I join? 

Currently the Talent Gateway is undergoing a comprehensive restructuring to provide more adaptable and definable learning outcomes to help you become career ready. Current students in the Talent Gateway program will not be affected by development changes at this point in time, and should feel free to continue their program progress at their leisure. 

New students interested in the Talent Gateway should check back on this page for updates and news about the future launch of the reimagined Talent Gateway program.
