E-book updates

Chicago Manual of Style Online

The electronic version of the Chicago Manual of Style provides searchable online access to the 15th (2003) and 16th (2010) editions of the standard style manual. This version also includes the Chicago-Style Citation Quick Guide and Chicago Style Q&A (editors' answers to questions submitted by readers, updated monthly).

Ebrary Academic Complete – New McGraw Hill E-book Titles

A new set of McGraw Hill e-book titles are now accessible through the eBrary Academic Complete database. A few of the titles added include: Biomedical Engineering and Design Handbook, Bipolar Disorder Survival Guide: What You and Your Family Need to Know, Forensic Structural Engineering Handbook, Handbook of Corrosion Engineering, Handbook of Heat Transfer, Prehistoric Life: Evolution and the Fossil Record, Water and Wastewater Calculations Manual, Biomedical Engineering and Design Handbook, and many others.

 

Database updates

BBC Shakespeare Plays

BBC Shakespeare Plays includes streaming video of all the plays of Shakespeare originally broadcast by the British Broadcasting Company between 1978 and 1985. Plays can be viewed in their entirety or separated into individual acts. The database can be searched by character name as well as title.

Chronicle of Higher Education

The Chronicle of Higher Education includes news and information on all aspects of higher education. Along with the online version published daily, access now includes updated text from each print issue posted on Mondays. Also included is a searchable archive of back issues and The Chronicle Review, the award-winning weekly magazine of ideas. Complete data from the annual Almanac of Higher Education, such as program rankings, administrator pay data, faculty data, and other information are available. Slide shows, podcasts, videos, and other extras are included.

GPO Monthly Catalog
The Government Publications Office Catalog provides citations to U.S. federal government publications such as Congressional reports, hearings, debates, records, and judiciary materials. Documents issued by executive departments such as the Department of Defense, Department of State, Department of Labor, and the Office of the President are also included.

Opposing Viewpoints in Context

Opposing Viewpoints in Context provides information on thousands of controversial issues ranging from offshore drilling to climate change, and health care to immigration. This easy-to-use database includes more than 14,000 pro/con viewpoint essays and more than 5,000 topic overviews. Links to related articles, photos, graphics, and statistics in academic journals, magazines, newspapers, primary resources, and web sites are also included.

WorldCat Dissertations and Theses

WorldCat Dissertations and Theses includes descriptions of dissertations and theses held by over 57,000 libraries worldwide (including most libraries in North America, and the national libraries of Australia and many Western European countries). It includes many titles from European countries not included in ProQuest Dissertations & Theses.
