Join the College of Business on Thursday, March 15, for UM-Dearborn/Crain’s Detroit Business Over Breakfast: Consumer Protection, Regulatory Reform and You.
In this session, panelists will discuss how consumer protection regulatory reform has an impact on you. The forum will explore various aspects of consumer protection laws and policies, the 2010 Dodd-Frank and Consumer Protection Act and other topics related to borrowing and mortgages from a consumer perspective.
Panelists also will address how becoming better informed will lead to better financial stability in the future. Panelists include:
· Katharyn Barron, division chief of consumer protection, Michigan Assistant Attorney General office;
· Jason Keller, economic development and state director, Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago;
· Dennis Koons, president and chief operating officer, Michigan Bankers Association;
· John A. E. Pottow, professor of law, University of Michigan
The event will begin at 7:30 a.m. with breakfast and networking opportunities. The panel discussion will last from 8:30-10 a.m. It will be held at the College of Business, Fairlane Center North–Quad E, 19000 Hubbard Drive, Dearborn 48126.
