The University of Michigan-Dearborn's final enrollment total of 8,885 students for the fall 2010 semester reflects the campus's highest enrollment since 2003 and only 137 students off the highest enrollment in UM-Dearborn's history. Total headcount is up 243 students, or 2.8 percent.
The campus's final undergraduate enrollment total is 7,224, the largest undergraduate enrollment in the university's history and the largest since 1992. Total graduate enrollment is 1,661, which is 22 down from last year.
Total new student enrollment (which includes freshmen and transfer students) is at 1,754, a 6.2 percent increase over last year and the largest percentage annual increase in more than a decade. Transfers are at 834, or 14.4 percent over last year. First Time in Any College (FTIAC) students are at 921, down one student from last year's 922. This is the fourth consecutive year that FTIAC enrollment was over 900 students and the fifth consecutive year that transfer enrollment was over 700.
This year's incoming freshman class has a high school GPA average of 3.54, which is up from 3.50 last fall, and an average ACT score of 24.15, up from last year's 24.12. Both are the highest academic scores in at least 10 years.
