University of Michigan-Dearborn’s College of Business has been recognized as one of the country’s best business schools for the seventh consecutive year. The college is among those listed in The Princeton Review’s annual publication, “The Best 295 Business Schools,” which was released earlier this week.
“To be consistently recognized by The Princeton Review as a top business school is a testament to the College of Business’ commitment to academic excellence and career preparedness,” said COB Dean Raju Balakrishnan. “Our students graduate ready to excel and to address the needs of a rapidly changing business world—both here in southeast Michigan and throughout the world.”
The Princeton Review selected schools based on their high regard for academic programs and review of institutional data. Publication staff also factor in the opinions of students who rate and report on their experiences, as part of a lengthy survey. The survey asked students about their school’s academics, student body and campus life, as well as about themselves and their career plans.
Editors said students chose UM-Dearborn’s College of Business “for the unbeatable triumvirate of ‘value, location and name brand,’” and noted that the college “has long maintained a strong local reputation” and “excellent University of Michigan name.”
UM-Dearborn students who responded to the survey spoke highly of their overall academic experience and the personal attention received from faculty members. One student noted that professors are “supportive even when you’re finished with their class—it is not uncommon for professors to help with networking or career searches.”
UM-Dearborn’s College of Business is home to several nationally recognized programs in which students gain valuable hands-on experience working alongside faculty and business professionals in a variety of areas. Last month, U.S. News & World Report recognized UM-Dearborn’s College of Business as one of Michigan’s top undergraduate business programs for 2015.
