Convocation, Welcome Week festivities greet new and returning students

The New Student Convocation and Ice Cream Social kicked off the official start of the fall semester on Tuesday, Sept. 6. This annual event, which features a procession of students and faculty members from the CASL Building to Fieldhouse as shown above, formally welcomes new students and their parents to campus. This week all students are invited to participate in Welcome Week, a fun-filled week of activities coordinated by the Student Activities Office.

Monday, September 12

3 – 5 p.m. - Inclusion reception with Dr. Ann Lampkin-Williams, Kochoff Hall A, UC

6 – 8 p.m. - Greek Info night, Kochoff Hall, UC

Tuesday, September 13

12 – 3 p.m. - Backyard BBQ and Department/Organization Fair, Behind UC

12 – 1 p.m. - University Chorale, UC Stage

1  - 2 p.m. - African Drumming ensemble, UC Stage

6 – 8 p.m. - Panhellenic Open House, Kochoff Hall, UC

Wednesday, September 14

11 am – 2 p.m. - Fun fest, Behind UC

11 am – 2 p.m. - Engineering picnic, Chancellor’s Pond

12 – 3 p.m. - UC Student Life Open House - 2^nd floor of the UC & the CIViC

12 – 2 p.m. - Maize Goes Green, UC Stage

5 – 8 p.m. - Lyceum Art show, 1225 UC

Thursday, September 15

11 am – 2 p.m. - Roving balloon, wax FCS and UC Food Court

11 am – 2 p.m. - Roving magician, UC Food Court

12 – 5 p.m. - SAB Activity Day, Behind UC

5 p.m. - University Choir Performance, UC Stage

6 – 8 p.m. - WOW Reunion & dinner, Kochoff Hall A

Friday, September 16

7 p.m. - Film Screening: Fordson @ AMC Fairlane (One ticket per student - ID required) Pick up tickets in 2136 UC

Saturday, September 17

9 a.m. - SOLID
